01

Confirm display power and input

A powered panel can still listen to the wrong source.

Open the monitor menu, select the physical input in use, and confirm both cable ends. A blank panel without its own menu points to a power or display issue.

02

Trace every adapter and dock

Each active link can limit or break negotiation.

Remove optional switches and docks for a direct test. For USB-C, confirm the host port actually supports display output and the cable supports the required mode.

03

Substitute one known-good part

Controlled swaps identify the failing class.

Try one verified cable, another input, or the monitor with another source. Change only one part at a time and return settings before the next test.

04

Recover the graphics path safely

No signal does not prove a dead GPU.

Use the computer maker’s display recovery guidance, check the correct graphics output, and seek service when known-good substitutions still produce no output.
